What companies are included in the CarrierWatch database?

The CarrierWatch database contains information on almost 500,000 transportation companies of all types. The database includes all types of carriers (past and present) that are licensed to move freight in the United States and Canada. Carriers in the database include interstate carriers (those with a docket number), freight forwarders and intrastate carriers. At present, the database does not include carriers that transport passengers or household goods.

Where does CarrierWatch data come from?

The CarrierWatch database includes information from a variety of sources including the FMCSA, insurance producers and from carriers themselves. When looking at the company detail page for a carrier, the information is divided into multiple sections, each labeled with its source.

What monitoring levels are available in CarrierWatch?

If you have purchased the premium version of CarrierWatch, you can select the level of monitoring you would like CarrierWatch to perform. The types of monitoring are: Premium Only – All carriers on your list will be monitored for changes to insurance as well as safety and authority; Basic and Premium – If you select this option, you will be able to control the level of monitoring for each individual carrier.

If you have purchased the basic version of CarrierWatch, this option will be set to "Basic Only", meaning that all carriers on your list will be monitored for changes to CSA 2010 and other safety data, authority and DOT-reported insurance.

Note: If your CarrierWatch account is set up to perform automatic uploads, you will not be able to change the monitoring level. Please call or email the CarrierWatch Support team who will be happy to make this change on your behalf.

When is CarrierWatch data updated?
