This week the FMCSA announced that it has withdrawn its proposed rulemaking which could have called for an increase in carrier liability insurance.
That's good news for both carriers and brokers, because a steep increase in insurance requirements would have added extra costs at a time when many carriers are wondering how they're gone to pay for electronic logging devices required by December 18.

Controversy over CSA scores heated up again when the FMCSA this week returned BASIC score "absolute measures" to public view. The Transportation Intermediaries Association condemned the move, saying it "will only further generate confusion in the marketplace and will give the trial bar another arrow in its quiver to seek judgment against a 3PL for negligent selection."
