DAT aligns leadership around customer segments and shared technology

PORTLAND, Ore., August 13, 2026 — DAT Freight & Analytics today announced changes to its leadership structure that accelerate product development and customer engagement across its freight broker, carrier, financial services, and shipper businesses:

  • John Xiao has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer and joins DAT’s executive leadership team. Xiao leads DAT’s central platform organization and the shared technology supporting its broker, carrier, financial services, and shipper businesses. He is responsible for the technology that drives DAT iQ analytics services and will guide the continued integration of AI into products and software development practices. Xiao joined DAT in August 2024 as Vice President of Data Engineering, managing DAT’s enterprise data, machine learning, and analytics technology.
  • Marcus Womack is now responsible for DAT’s Carrier segment in addition to Financial Services. Together, these businesses cover the end-to-end carrier experience, including carrier growth, carrier technology, network integrity, payments, and financial services.
  • Kary Jablonski continues to lead DAT’s Broker business, including the company’s broker product and technology teams. She brings unified leadership to strategy, product development, go-to-market execution, and customer experience. Jablonski is also responsible for Marketing and Customer Support.

These changes bring product and technology groups closer to the customers they serve, while DAT’s core systems remain centralized, ensuring every part of the company works from the same infrastructure. For customers, that means continued improvement to DAT products, stronger fraud protection, better network reliability, and automation that makes work easier.

“With these changes, DAT continues to build a more customer-centric business that can move fast and bring meaningful innovation to the brokers, carriers and shippers who use our platform,” said Jeff Clementz, president and CEO of DAT. “What does not change is our focus on delivering value and performance across every part of DAT, from freight matching and factoring to load visibility, automation and analytics.”

These changes build on a steady run of product news.

In recent months, DAT launched the Carrier Management suite, giving brokers more control over which carriers can access their loads and helping reduce unwanted calls and fraud across the network. The DAT One load board was also updated to refresh market pricing more often, giving carriers and brokers a faster, clearer read on rates. This summer, DAT rolled out Load Recommendations, a DAT One mobile feature that automatically surfaces the loads best matched to a carrier’s truck and lanes, and expanded reload visibility on DAT’s Convoy platform so carriers can see backhaul options and plan their next haul before booking a load.

On the shipper side, DAT integrated LaneMakers into DAT iQ Benchmark, helping shippers find active carriers for lanes that are typically hard to cover. DAT iQ is also adding a new tool that makes it easier for shippers to manage mini-bids.

“Together, these releases reflect the kind of ongoing investment customers can expect to see more of under this new structure,” Clementz said.
