DAT’s Accelerated Freight Matching Launches with New Load Board App for Carriers and Paperless Onboarding Service for Brokers

Portland OR – DAT announced a series of product launches designed to accelerate freight matching transactions on the company’s network, with a new DAT load board app for truckers and DAT OnBoard, both enabling carriers to expedite the most important steps of the freight matching process in their cab on any device. DAT Load Board for Truckers is a native mobile app enabling unlimited access to DAT spot market loads, which in October reached the highest freight levels in 2016 other than June.

The DAT Load Board App also features quick scrolling of up to 500 loads at a time, with pick up times and dock hours, and 90-day freight rates, a rolling average based on actual transactions between load providers and carriers. Additionally, users can save matches to call on and develop future business.

DAT Load Board AppThe DAT Load Board for Truckers app is available for Android phones on December 6, with iOS soon to follow, and subsequent monthly releases. The app complements all paid subscriptions to DAT’s Power and Express load board products, as well as DAT TruckersEdge and MembersEdge, which is offered through the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA). Any trucker with paid subscriptions to any of those products can download DAT Load Board for Truckers for free on Google Play.

By eliminating paper, DAT OnBoard accelerates a process carriers have long found frustrating, and expedites brokers’ ability to add capacity. DAT OnBoard lets carriers use their phones, tablets, or laptops to fill out a complete profile – e.g., DOT number, insurance, W-9, CARB-compliant status, etc. – on a broker-branded website. DAT OnBoard also lets carriers use e-signatures for contracts. More than 50,000 carriers are already in the DAT OnBoard service.

The final piece of DAT’s efforts to accelerate freight matching includes a significant iOS upgrade to DAT Trucker, a free app providing limited DAT load board access based on current geographical location as well as information on services such as truck stop locations, fuel prices, rest areas, truck-friendly hotels, truck washes, CAT scales and more.

“As the largest network of loads and trucks, we are intensely focused on getting both sides of the transaction connected and qualified as quickly and profitably as possible, where initially the parties do not know each other,” said Don Thornton, SVP Marketing & Sales. “The result is greater efficiency, peace of mind, and the potential for long term relationships.”
