Flatbed Rate Dips from Record High

May 6 - 12 - Last week the national average flatbed rate declined 1¢ to $2.71 per mile, after hitting highest flatbed rate ever recorded in DAT Trendlines the previous week. There has been strong demand for flatbeds from the energy and construction sectors, and the load-to-truck ratio has been above 100 loads per truck for 7 weeks in a row. April's Average Rate Increases 12¢

Compared to March, the national average flatbed rate in April increased 12¢ to $2.65 per mile. Flatbed rates are 58¢ higher than they were in April 2017.
