National reefer rate slides

Dec 2 - 8 - Lower demand and cheaper fuel contributed to a 2¢ decline in the national average reefer rate, which sat at $2.46 per mile last week. Looser capacity also led to a lower national load-to-truck ratio.

Reefer rates make gains in November

Reefer rates increased 6¢ in November, to an average of $2.48 per mile, including fuel. Compared to November 2017, the rate was 5¢ higher year over year.
