National reefer rate slips 1¢

Aug 12 - 18 - The national average for reefer rates edged down to $2.50 per mile. Demand mostly held steady, but an uptick in capacity lowered the national load-to-truck ratio.

July reefer rate eases from June's record high

July's national average reefer rate was $2.61 per mile, 9¢ below the June rate which was the highest monthly level ever recorded in Trendlines. Compared to July 2017, the rate was 54¢ higher.
