When it comes to Clearinghouse registration, CDL drivers don’t all have the same requirements. Any motor carrier company needs to ensure all new drivers have passed an FMCSA Clearinghouse test — which must be either administered by their new employer, or on record in the FMCSA database from the past three years. Each query from the FMCSA is available for $1.25. Owner operators are also required to query their own results at least once a year, in addition to submitting all the necessary FMCSA requirements for employers.
