Spot rates spike during Roadcheck week

Weekly Brief

Roadside inspection blitz leads to tighter capacity

May 13 – 19: The annual Roadcheck inspection blitz often leads to many owner-operators taking a week off from work, and that was no different last week. For the ones who didn’t take a vacation, the increase in inspections led to less availability for transportation buyers. This led to huge spikes in load-to-truck ratios on the DAT One network, with national average spot rates up across the board.
