DAT hosted another jam-packed Launch and Learn webinar, where product experts unveiled exciting updates across DAT One, Trucker Tools, and DAT iQ. Whether you’re a broker, carrier, or shipper, the new features and tools are all about improving efficiency, visibility, and trust across the freight lifecycle.
Here’s a high-level look at what was shared — and why it matters.
Smarter shipment management and carrier search in DAT One
Jaime Salazar, Sr. Product Manager at DAT, walked attendees through several workflow enhancements in DAT One. A standout feature? A customizable “My Shipments” table that lets users rearrange and resize columns based on personal preference. Also showcased were updated carrier qualification filters that help brokers quickly identify trustworthy carriers based on FMCSA safety ratings and authority age — complete with clear visual indicators right in the interface.
More visibility into insurance details with carrier profiles
Megan McFeely, Product Manager at DAT, shared updates to the carrier company profile in DAT One, including a major upgrade to insurance visibility. Brokers can now view expanded certificate of insurance (COI) details — like coverage limits, VINs, and provider info — all in one place. COIs are downloadable directly from the profile, helping streamline onboarding and reduce risk.
Advanced load tracking and fraud detection from Trucker Tools
Ethan Sims, Product Manager at Trucker Tools, demoed the platform’s core load tracking features and its powerful fraud detection toolkit. Load tracking integrates seamlessly via ELD, mobile app, or SMS, ensuring consistent updates.
But what really stood out was Trucker Tools’ fraud alert system. It flags suspicious behavior — like VoIP phone numbers, VPN usage, or location spoofing — based on patterns seen in past fraud cases. These alerts are indicators, not confirmations, and they’ve already helped hundreds of brokers stop fraud before it impacts their business.
A new way to measure the market: shipper spot rates
Tamir Dov, Senior Product Manager at DAT, introduced a new addition to the RateView suite: the shipper spot rate. This gives brokers a clearer view of what shippers are paying for spot loads, allowing for better margin analysis and more informed rate benchmarking. Initially available via API, this data layer complements existing spot and contract rates in RateView.
Benchmark your performance with DAT iQ
Chad Kennedy, Group Product Manager at DAT, presented updates to iQ Benchmark, a tool that compares your cost data to DAT’s RateView rates. With built-in visuals, filters, and carrier-level detail, it helps identify cost-saving opportunities — right down to the lane and carrier level. This is especially valuable for brokers looking to sharpen their pricing strategy or improve performance in underperforming lanes.
A closer look at lane trends and geo-expansion in RateView
Cole Hytjan, Product Manager at DAT, closed the product demos with updates to the iQ RateView screen. Users can now see their average rate performance versus market benchmarks, filter by granular geographies like 3-digit ZIPs, and use the new “best fit” label — DAT’s most accurate rate based on the strongest available data. It’s all about better decision-making, right down to the lane level.
Stay connected with DAT
The session wrapped with a reminder to scan the webinar QR code for feedback and follow-up. Attendees were also encouraged to join DATCON 2025, happening September 8–10 in Chicago — a great chance to connect in person with the DAT product team and industry peers.
