From the desk of David Scandlyn, Director of Broker Sales
I just wrapped an incredible week in Chicago for the 2025 Engage event, and there is no better feeling than stepping into a customer’s shop. The buzz on a brokerage floor can be electric, and I had a blast previewing exciting new tools, discussing the market, and deploying new solutions. This industry also requires blowing off a little steam, and we greatly appreciate the 100+ customers and partners that joined us for our happy hour.
Over the week, we held more than 50 customer meetings to better understand how we support brokers like you. We also showcased new tools like the Convoy Platform, Trucker Tools, and Carrier Management Suite, designed to boost efficiency, visibility, and scalability for brokers. The feedback was clear: Customers are eager for solutions that streamline workflows, connect carrier relationships, and provide real-time market insights.
To everyone who joined us or shared their insights, thank you. Your input shapes how we support your business.
If you missed us in Chicago, it’s not too late to connect! Reach out to your DAT representative or follow our channels for updates on future events and product news. Until next time,
David

This week, Dean Croke sat down with Jeremy Reymer, Founder and CEO of Project 61. Jeremy has devoted his career to truck driver health and wellness after learning the average life expectancy of a driver is 61, hence the name of his company. Together, he and Dean cover market behavior we’re seeing, including the drop in dry van and reefer spot rates, the effects of the ELP mandate, the fall of cass shipments, and what the drop in interest rates means for freight.
What Convoy + DAT means for you
In case you haven’t heard the good news, the Convoy Platform is now part of DAT. The Convoy Platform helps brokers do more with less by automating low-touch, repeatable loads on frequently used lanes. This expands brokers’ options and frees up their time to focus on loads that require more attention. With Convoy, brokers get immediate access to reliable capacity from tens of thousands of pre-qualified carriers, eliminating the need for phone calls or emails. The platform’s goal is not to eliminate human involvement in freight, but to optimize it. Read more and join the waitlist below.
