From the desk of David Scandlyn, Director of Broker Sales

First up, some big news: DAT has acquired the Convoy Platform! This means more automation, less fraud, and smoother operations for everyone. It’s all about making connections easier and helping you get things done faster. We have received overwhelming interest so far, and are excited to bring this functionality to all of our customers in the coming months. If you don’t know where to start, feel free to fill out the request form below, or simply connect with me directly.

On the DAT One front, we’ve delivered new flatbed equipment filters (a major ask from our customers)! Now it’s even easier to find the exact equipment you need without any extra hassle. Just a few clicks and you’re good to go.

If you’re near Chicago, we’re looking forward to seeing friendly faces at ENGAGE. It’s a chance to chat with industry experts, share ideas, and maybe even pick up a few tips to grow your business. Plus, a fun happy hour (register below!)

We’re also shining a spotlight this month on FreightVana, a team making real waves with their fresh approach to solving logistics’ problems. Their story is full of energy and great ideas for building strong connections in the freight world with our new Shipper Spot Rate.

And as always, we’ve got some handy tips, industry trends, and answers to your questions tucked inside. Let’s see what this month has in store!

Until next time,

David

Big news in freight: DAT acquired the Convoy Platform

It’s all about doing more with less. The Convoy Platform automates low-touch, repeatable loads on frequently used lanes, expanding brokers’ options rather than restricting them. The goal is not to eliminate human involvement in freight, but to free up time and focus for the loads that require the most attention. This means no phone calls or emails, just immediate access to reliable capacity from tens of thousands of pre-qualified carriers.

Product spotlight: Flatbed attributes in DAT One

You can now select multiple attributes for certain open deck equipment types, like flatbed, in DAT One. It’s never been easier to communicate securement requirements, meaning fewer calls from carriers without the right equipment. Find exactly what you need, fast.

Customer Spotlight (Why Trucker Tools): General Transportation

General Transportation’s leadership saw the evolving tech landscape — and seized the chance to improve their own operations. “We were reviewing our spend and trying to find alternatives that would help us save. Every item was up for review from the biggest spend to the smallest,” they explained. The name “Trucker Tools” surfaced again and again in those conversations.

Customer spotlight: FreightVana + DAT’s Shipper Spot Rate

FreightVana relies on a blend of internal history and trusted market data, including DAT iQ RateView and DAT’s new Shipper Spot Rate add-on.

“That opens the door to an entirely new set of transactions, and helps us measure our performance on the sell side just as we do on the buy side.” – Alex Perry, Vice President of Pricing and Market Intelligence
