This week is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. We asked drivers to tell us some of the things that make their day, and each day this week we’re going to share a different way to show your appreciation to a truck driver.

Time at Home

A lot of drivers got into the job because they like the open road. They like getting to see the country and wide-open spaces. That doesn’t mean they don’t want to be home.

For carriers, that means learning the work-life balances of your drivers. Some might only want to do short runs and be home with family every night. Others are more content being on the road for long stretches. You can show appreciation by doing what you can to match a driver with loads that let him or her achieve their preferred work-life balance.
