Driver Appreciation Week 3

< Back to posts

This week is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. We asked drivers to tell us some of the things that make their day, and each day this week we’re going to share a different way to show your appreciation to a truck driver.

Transparency

Will the load be available in the morning? Is there anywhere to park the truck if the load arrives at the destination early? Will there be lumpers, and who’s playing the fee? Are the pallets shrinkwrapped? Letting the driver know everything there is to know about the load shows that you appreciate what goes into doing the job well.

And if you’re negotiating rates with an owner-operator, be transparent an honest about what your goals are. Chances are, if you help that O-O with a backhaul, he or she will be more willing to help you out on down the line.
