DATCON: Not your typical user conference

< Back to posts

It’s always over before we know it, and this year is the same story: DATCON23 was an absolute blast, and we loved connecting with you all in Houston.

To relive the magic, check out this short recap video:

This year’s DATCON covered a lot of ground but put a special focus on fighting fraud – a global problem that no industry has avoided. Quang “Q” Nguyen delivered a keynote focused on practical cybersecurity and the ways you can protect your business from bad actors.

DAT speakers also discussed another industry hot topic: the rise of artificial intelligence in supply chains. DAT President and CEO, Satish Maripuri, gave us “Shaping Tomorrow: A DAT Vision of the Future” on the first day, which was complemented by our partners at CrowdStrike’s talk, “Navigating the Future: The Transformative Impact of AI on Business Operations.”

But DATCON23 didn’t just stick to big ideas and concepts – attendees explored the ins and outs of DAT products with hands-on product demos, niche topic discussions, and training, including talks like:

  • “Connecting Strategy and Execution with DAT iQ Analytics” with Cole Hytjan
  • Keeping Profit Up in a Down Market’ with David Peckman and Scott Friesen
  • “Optimizing LTL in a Connected World” with David Scandlyn
  • “Better Together: Connecting DAT One with DAT IQ” with Sarita Benjamin and Jamie Claeys

It wouldn’t be DATCON without a party, though. After a day of discussion, we gathered at The Rustic for food and drinks, and some armadillo racing – yes, you read that right.

Don’t take our word for it though. These attendees summed it up perfectly:

“The event was extremely well organized and had production quality at or above many of the events I have attended over the years from organizations such as Microsoft. The team members were always helpful, and the app made it easy to keep up with the different sessions.”

“If you use DAT tools on a daily basis, there’s more to the tools than you may realize. This is a perfect environment for you to learn those other aspects of DAT’s tools.”
