Market conditions

Reefer load posts were up 1.6% week over week and up 27.3% year over year. Truck posts were down 10.3% week over week and down 25.4% year over year, so freight edged up while capacity pulled back. The load-to-truck ratio rose to 19.38, up from 17.11 a week earlier and 11.36 a year ago, the tightest of the three markets this week.
Spot vs. contract

Contract linehaul averaged $2.49 per mile this week against a spot rate of $2.65 per mile, leaving spot $0.16 per mile above contract, a clear inversion driven by the run-up in spot. Contract held the premium for roughly 44 months, from April 2022 through November 2025, averaging $0.25 per mile and peaking at $0.46 per mile in April 2023, before the spread flipped in December 2025. Across 2022 through 2025, contract ran $0.21 per mile above spot.
