Backed by smart technology and real-time insights, we help shippers move freight with confidence — and help carriers find steady, well-managed opportunities.
Our vision is to be recognized as a next-generation brokerage. Built on trust, powered by data, and driven by innovation.
When was the brokerage founded, and what prompted you to start?
AMB Logistic was officially founded in 2020 in Troy, Michigan. We recognized a growing need for a tech-forward, full‑service 3PL that could connect U.S. shippers and carriers with speed, reliability, and transparency. The vision was to build an integrated logistics platform offering everything from freight brokerage (FTL/LTL) to ocean, air, warehousing, and last‑mile value services.
What type of brokerage model do you operate?
At AMB Logistic, we operate a full-service third-party brokerage model that combines traditional freight brokerage with modern tech-driven operations.
We focus on both asset-light and relationship-heavy practices. While we don’t own trucks ourselves, we’ve built a strong, vetted network of reliable carriers across the U.S., enabling us to move freight efficiently across all major modes: dry van, reefer, flatbed, LTL, FTL, intermodal, and even international shipments.
Does the brokerage specialize in specific freight types or markets?
Yes, we specialize in intermodal and drayage services, along with FTL and LTL shipments in dry van, refrigerated, and flatbed equipment. Our team is experienced in handling time-sensitive and high-volume freight across the U.S. and Canada.
We chose these specific markets and freight types because they’re the backbone of supply chains where reliability, speed, and precision are critical. Our expertise in dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, intermodal, and drayage emerged from solving real challenges for our customers, from tight deadlines to complex logistics requirements.
Early on, we saw clear opportunities to bring meaningful improvements to industries that depend on timely delivery and operational excellence. By mastering these core services, we’ve become trusted partners to shippers and carriers who demand consistently high performance, flexibility, and transparency.
What products are essential to the day-to-day operations of the brokerage?
We’ve been using DAT products from day one, literally since our first shipment. DAT’s market reach covers a vast percentage of the industry, enabling us to quickly find carriers in virtually every freight segment. It’s been foundational to our growth and success from the very start.
On a daily basis, we rely heavily on DAT One load board, DAT CarrierWatch, and DAT RateView. These tools are crucial for sourcing reliable carriers, verifying carrier credentials, tracking market rates, and ensuring competitive pricing. They’ve become essential parts of our everyday operations and decision-making process.
What did DAT simplify or make easier for your brokerage?
DAT simplified three key areas for us:
- Carrier sourcing – We can quickly find and vet carriers across all segments, saving hours of manual outreach.
- Rate accuracy – With DAT RateView, we’re able to quote competitively and confidently using real-time market data.
- Risk management – Tools like CarrierWatch help us stay compliant and reduce exposure to unreliable or unsafe carriers.
Overall, DAT brought speed, visibility, and trust into our day-to-day operations, allowing us to scale faster without sacrificing quality.
How does DAT support your short-term goals?
DAT’s load board and digital freight-matching tools allow our brokers to quickly find and book loads, helping them ramp up faster. It’s hard getting started, and this is a great help.
Plus, their huge carrier network helps us connect with new, reliable transportation partners.
Automated carrier vetting tools ensure we work with safe, compliant, and dependable carriers.
We’ve started to tap into AI-driven tools to streamline load matching, rate benchmarking, and market forecasting, improving efficiency. We’re getting leaner and more precise. We can begin to pivot to excelling in customer service now. Real-time tracking via Trucker Tools is huge with this. We can give continual updates to shippers. It gives them peace of mind and makes our relationship strong.
How does DAT support your long-term goals?
DAT has played a crucial role in helping the brokerage consistently source the right carriers on time, even in tight or shifting markets. Tools like DAT RateView and DAT iQ provide clear, real-time insights into pricing and market trends, making it easier to stay competitive while protecting margins.
With DAT, decision-making becomes faster and more data-driven. Whether it’s quoting accurately, managing capacity, or understanding lane dynamics, the platform gives brokers the visibility and confidence needed to operate at scale and deliver reliable service.
Technology plays a central role in our day-to-day operations. From automated load posting and real-time tracking to digital document management and carrier onboarding, it allows us to move faster, minimize errors, and provide consistent, high-quality service.
One of our co-founders, Balram, comes from a strong technology background and has always believed that being “just” a freight brokerage is no longer enough. In today’s market, survival — and success — depends on operating like a tech company. It’s the only way to scale efficiently, stay competitive, and actively combat fraud and double brokering.
We’ve integrated TMS platforms, GPS tracking, AI-based analytics, and workflow automation tools to stay ahead of industry demands and deliver smarter logistics every day.
What are the greatest challenges facing the freight or brokerage industry?
One of the biggest challenges in today’s freight and brokerage industry is market volatility. These rapid changes make it difficult to plan long-term or maintain consistent margins.
Another key challenge is carrier fraud and double brokering, which continue to increase across the industry. Verifying carrier credibility and protecting freight integrity now requires advanced tools and constant vigilance.
Finally, there’s pressure to balance speed with service quality. Shippers expect real-time updates and seamless communication, while carriers expect faster payments and fair treatment. Meeting those expectations at scale is what separates the good from the great in this business.
The freight brokerage industry is evolving rapidly. Technology, fraud prevention, and real-time data have become essential, not optional. Brokers today need to be agile, tech-driven, and more transparent than ever to stay competitive and build trust.
DAT continues to be a leader in supporting that transformation. Its tools are reliable, widely adopted, and built with the realities of day-to-day brokerage operations in mind. From sourcing capacity to protecting against fraud, DAT has helped us stay efficient, compliant, and responsive in a fast-moving market.
We’d love to see even more innovation from DAT, especially in areas like ELD-based tracking, advanced automation, and dynamic carrier reputation scoring. The more the platform evolves, the more it can empower brokerages like ours to operate smarter and grow stronger.
